During our last Christmas outreach in Dec 2020, we dedicated 4 wells and saw the distinct need for clean water in the rural villages and the prison.
In the rural village, daily activities like cooking and bathing were not possible as they had to either buy water that they could not afford or to share the same source of stream water with buffaloes. In the prison, there was no source of clean water and the inmates were prone to skin and health problems.
The village chief told us how grateful they were for the 4 wells, but there were other villages that were also in need of clean water and asked if we were able to help them. We thank God for financial partners that sowed so generously and that enabled us to continue with the clean water project.
When the wells were built, the joy they expressed was priceless. What we so often take for granted was actually a life or death situation for them being trapped in the cycle of poverty. In partnership with the local church, we took the opportunity to gather the villagers to preach about Jesus, the true living water. All of them gave their lives to Jesus and received Him into their hearts that day.
In John 4:14, Jesus says: but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our generous sponsors:-
Ps Joe Kum, Darren and Gwyneth Toh, Mr Pang Kok, Gerlyn Loh & Esther Chee, and Mr Robert Lim and Family for their sponsorship of these 5 wells.
